Here is the video produced by Incorrect University on the Berkeley campus. There is extensive coverage of the organizers, and participants, including Nonie Darwish and the leftist protesters that tried to disrupt her speech. Enjoy!
Update (by the Dean of IU)
Here are a couple of photos from the event at UC Berkeley:
Here a student screams at Nonie Darwish, “You are racist filth!”
Andrew Marcus gets feedback from the young Leftists.
Here the police had to handcuff one of the protesters after he nearly got into a fistfight inside the talk by Nonie Darwish.
The faceless Gitmo protester, a staple at any Leftist protest, showed up at the meeting.
Gitmo guy talked about his fascist government here in the United States.
He believes we should take care of the fascist governement here at home first.
Oh brother.

Excellent interviews and superb footage. Nonie’s position and rationale was rock solid and unbelievable that the two camera crews covering the event included Al Jazeera.
I’ll be watching both the video and reaction to it on a regular basis. Wow.

Nonie is a great speaker. There is no doubt regarding her courage. I appreciate how calm the situation has been due to the police presence. However, what I worry about in a place like Atlanta - where the Emory University event is to be held, is that the Black Element will be in force behind the communist element.
At Emory University, the racist rhetoric will be high.
How do you defeat the “Racist go home racist go home racist go home” mantra of the black man at the beginning of this footage? He was in the face of someone who was doing nothing overtly offensive or hostile and he was trying to force him to back down. Now, in this situation, have the rights of the person being heckled been trespassed? Is it possible that the patience demonstrated and restraint demonstrated in response and the lack of physical gestures kept this from breaking out into a heated battle?
It seems to me that once a boundary is crossed on personal space, that is an act of offense. Those who are calling Horowitz and his group of IFAW speakers and their listeners “Racists, Islamaphobes, and Xenophobes” are doing so in a malicious manner that borders on Forcing Submission…proving the point it seems of IFAW

Gary, you asked whether it is possible that the patient restraint shown by the white man holding the sign despite the black man’s physical gestures and provocations kept this protest from breaking out into a heated battle. Absolutely!
I read somewhere else in this blog that this protest occurred at Sproul Hall Plaza on the anniversary of the Freedom of Speech Movement that started on that very spot at Berkeley 43 years ago. What freedom of speech is there when whatever you say gets shouted down and remains unheard, and when physical intimidation is the order of the day? What discourse can take place? None. And what option does that leave the oppressed other than force of arms eventually?
Wasn’t this what the Black Panthers of Oakland were so hot about back then too?
I admire the restraint of this white guy who was saying NOTHING WHATEVER with his sign about race and demonstrating true tolerance to the racist black guy. But I fear one day soon this real tolerance will come to a violent end, because no wrong doing can be tolerated indefinitely.

Did you see that guy spout expletives and the like? I wonder if Islam tolerates such language?
It’s a plain to me that they want to do as they please, while denying the same right for others. Really sad.

It’s amazing the froth the Muslims can work themselves into.
And the police… WEAK. Just like everything else in this country.
I’m glad I didn’t spend a lot of time going to university and spared myself having to encounter these fools.
How long can this decay persist before things really fall apart.

You are doing the job the US media refuses to do. Excellent work. Thank you.

Where the hell is the UC Berkeley Administration on this? If they can’t teach order in their campus, then they’re begging for bigger government to step in and bring its kind of order.
And the cops… Man, we’re on our way to this: http://tinyurl.com/2domb9

Keep up the good work guys. Fantastic job!
Keep the cameras rolling.

Why don’t the people who came to listen respectfully to the invited speakers tell the insulting disrupters to SHUT UP? I tried it once at a UC campus meeting and it gave courage to others to follow suit. I yelled “SHUT UP, I CAME TO HEAR HIM, NOT YOU!” A chorus of SHUT UPs! then arose from the rest of the audience. The jerks then picked up their gear and left. Of course, that was before everyone became paralyzed by political correctness.

Awesome job! Nonie Darwish for UN delegation. What a gem of a brave woman. Thanks for the video.

I took part in a day-long Islamo-facsist protest at American River JC in Sacramento sponsored by the Christian Club on campus. After reading about what took place at UCB, sounds like the same crowd was working the Bay to the Valley!
What a shameful exhibition of Muslim “piety”. Screaming in our faces, foul language, crude sexual remarks to the females. Ugh.
It got very heated and the Admin tried to shut the group down about 2pm. Fortunately, it was recorded and they decided to let us continue, but not before there were several death threats to the group’s leadership while they packing up!
Oh, did I mention there is a mosque right across the street from the campus?! And the Admin has invited the Imam to speak on Thurs!

Interesting. Shrieking ‘racist filth’ at an Arab ex-muslim.
At least if I shouted ‘clueless moron’ back at him, I’d be accurate.

Wow. Just un. freakin’. believable. How absolutely stupid can these leftists get? We’re the fascists? If that’s so, then why is this clown allowed to speak without being thrown in jail? Islamic terrorists only care about thier local area? Uh, guess these idiots never heard of 9-11? And to think THIS is the future of our country? How scary is that? God help us all. Thanks for showing this, it needs to be out there every day.

Great coverage! The problem with these ‘left’ students (I assume most of these are enrolled students, maybe not fighting guy) is that when they encounter views different than their world view, they don’t even know how to analyze it. If its different than their ‘enlightened’ view, therefore it MUST be racist.
The easiest comeback to both yellings is: “Islam is NOT a race.” period.
Aside from the fact that NONE of these people could define what a classical facist system IS. So its whatever they think is wrong. Just plain ignorant.
17 darn.floor // Oct 24, 2007 at 4:16 pm
Jdawg is right. I always find it funny how these lefties go on and on about the fascist state. Without once questioning why they aren’t in prison, which without doubt they would be if this were indeed a fascist state.
18 Mo // Oct 24, 2007 at 8:25 pm
It is painful to watch such stupidity on display. ‘Racist go home!’ Has no one ever told this guy that Islam is not a race? (As soon as I heard that I had to forward to Ms. Darwish speaking. I simply have no patience for idiocy like that.)
As to the rest of these people screaming and making fools of themselves, I’d like to ask them why speaking out against the violence and oppression done in the name of Islam makes someone a ‘racist’ or a bigot of any sort. Such willful ignorance.
And what’s up with the guy with the rag on his face?! If you think you have something worthwhile and important to say, why not show yourself? But no, it’s easier to come to a place where someone is bringing up important issues that need to be addressed, and instead of even attempting to listen, you scream like a lunatic. People like this want to be taken seriously? Unbelievable!
I appreciated the woman who considered herself a Leftist, and yet listened to the presentation and considered the points that were being made. She did not want to be identified with those who were screaming and carrying on. I respect her for that.
Nonie Darwish is a courageous (and classy) lady. I don’t know how folks like this can keep their cool and go on with their presentation after being screamed at by people like that. I don’t think I could do it.
The contrast between Ms. Darwish and those shouting her down speaks for itself. Thank you for recording this and putting it on display for the world to see. I’ll be passing the link along.

Very interesting clip. I know that my own kids have seen some of this type of street theater acted out on their campus, although the most radical groups save their dramafests for UTAustin and other big state schools. I have also seen literature from these groups via my high school students. What is being framed as fact is in truth just as much brainwashing as the Jesus Freaks and other cults that sprang up in the 60’s and 70’s. Sadly they aren’t preaching love and peace, but death and war. And they are willing to do anything to make it happen. With three mosques in my suburb, I honestly fear I will recognize a former student’s name someday on a list of domestic based terror. And what is to stop them? Every security effort has been stymied by the left. We can’t even keep our border secure. Rome fell with less cause.

In response to MO…I am the woman who considers herself a leftist, ” but listened to the presentation and considered the points being made.” Thanks. Please know that I came specifically to support Ms. Darwish on this occasion as I have the greatest respect for her and agree wholeheartedly with her message. I heard someone say once, “I didn’t leave the left, the left left me.” I can think for myself and don’t need any gurus to interpret the world or history for me. The fact is that things are not black and white…grays are real. I’m with the left on certain domestic issues and with the right when it comes to understanding the threat of Militant Islam. Please know that there were other independent thinking leftists who work against the support of Militant Islam and lefty antisemitism who came to support Ms. Darwish from the lemming-like, brain-drained, and irrational soldiers of the machine we saw at work that evening. It’s very very frightening when people are so insistent on refusing to inform themselves or think. A few remains of the rational left, and I include myself among them, are dedicated to countering the lies and informing people of the dangers in the real world. There is life (and death) beyond Berkeley. I don’t expect these shouting monsters to wake up in time to save themselves.

I don’t about Nonie Darwish experience, but Horowitz and zinonists should be paying a hefty amount of money. I am an Egyptian American and what Nonie has experienced is in no way close to my own experince in Egypt. The contradictions abound with her claims. She said she lived 30 years under shariaa. Shariaa ? in Egypt under Nasser?. Egypt was then more socilaist and religion had a no place in Egypt’s Nasser. She is even confusing herself by saying that when she came to the US, Moslem preachers asked her to wear the Islamic dress when “she never had to wear it in Egypt”. The honor killing story is no way the norm and if it r happenes it is more likely in upper Egypt and as a last resort, when the female victim can not marry the purporter for one reason or another, but the last time I checked honor killing was still punishable crime in Egypt though with lesser sentence then other types of murders and applies equally to both men and women. Venezual, Armenia and other southern American countires have lesser sentence for honor crime then Egypt. And about Christain persecuation… Oh yeah like his H.H. Shenouda III the Pope of Copts would really appreciate a woman who allows her employers and friends publically call her father “terrorist” and critises her own culture and country and parrots out Zionist stereotype about Islam, to speak on behalf of the Copts. Yeah …the copts who constitute 15% or so of population of Egypt and control over 40% of its assets are really living a hardship. In corrupt government and society, the copts could not use their wealth to bribe themselves some freedom. Where is Nonie Darwish from Dr Mary Hanna a captain in the US Army Reserves in the Boston area, and a devout Coptic Christian, was recently denied her request for discharge as a conscientious objector. She wanted to leave the US army because she was not comfortable with US wars especially after the death of her father a former Egyptian officer died in 2003. She even offered the US army to pay back her eduction. Again, Mary is a Christain Copt but like most Copts considers her self as Egyptian first. And then there is the story of her father colonel Mustafa Hafaz, why she claims that he died by a explosive device hidden in a book, where in fact it was documented that he was murdered by Isreali unit 101 who threw grendes in houses and sprayed bultets on every one who came out to flee. Maybe it makes the Isreali look better in targeting assissaniting her father then randomly killing a score of people as it happened (see witness account of UN officer at this time named Vagn Bennike). Also, I would love to hear from her about her Egyptian Christain sweet heart that she abondaned her family to marry and moved to the US but were divorced in less of one year. He must have converted to Islam. I know of Nonie’s three sisters and I know that they are all married to respectable husbands living in Egypt as good respectable citizens, the question is why Nonie is doing that to them?, why is she doing that to the name of his father who made the ultimate scarfice for his country?. Why is she steadfast in attacking Islam and the Arabs, demonizing the Palestains in every way and not even find anything in the Isreali is worthy to be critical of?.
